Proper Study Pattern for Polytechnic College : A Must for Getting High Grades

After completing higher secondary education, a number of students join professional diploma courses. Diploma courses are not exactly a very high level of education; it is somewhere between school education and higher education. Students pursuing diploma course are not old or matured enough to study independently, live independently and manage their own life. Some of them may be locals but most of them live in hostels or P.G. accommodation. This is perhaps their first experience of leaving the security of homes and parents and living far away among strangers.
Left to manage things independently students are at a loss initially. It takes time for them to settle down to the new routine. They suddenly realize that they have to grow up and behave with responsibility. They understand that they have to focus on studies. By the time they learn to manage life independently, it may be too late to begin studies. The semester exams will be near before they realize how much time is lost.  Hence, the first thing that polytechnic students must do is to fix a proper study pattern. Other things can wait.

Students have to attend college in the day time. Hence, they must select a suitable time slot which is convenient for the, either early morning or late night when they can study without being disturbed. This study time does not include project or home assignments. The time should be spent on reading, making notes, revising or solving question banks.
Learning styles and study patterns differ with students. Some students can remember what they read once. Others need to copy and write from the book in order to remember better. Still others prefer to jot down important points. Whatever the style, students should settle down to a proper study pattern as soon as possible. They must follow the study pattern daily, regularly without fail, especially students who wish to score high grades. Regular study from the beginning of the year helps them to complete the syllabus in time, leaving plenty of time for revision.
A proper study pattern implies planning and distribution. Students must take stock of the subjects they have to study. They should allot the necessary number of days and hours to study the subjects. Dividing the syllabus into smaller units and completing the units one by one helps in a great way.
If students do not follow a fixed study pattern, they may get confused with the bulk of the syllabus. They will fail to understand where to begin and how to go about it. Towards the end of the year, the syllabus will seem to be unmanageable. It will lead to frustration and nervousness on the part of students. It will affect their grades to a great extent.
Wise students always follow a fixed study pattern from the first day of college. It helps them to be abreast of what is being taught in the classroom. Reading what is taught on the same day enables better understanding and fixation of concepts. Proper study patterns must include practice and drilling of exercises.
There is a direct correlation between study patterns and high grades. Best luck to Polytechnic Students for attempting to fix proper study patterns and score high grades in the examinations!!!

  1. Its true that for a college to be in the list of best colleges,it must have a great quality of education and all the facilities should be given to the students that can help them to grow. In my personal opinion, PCP is one of the best polytechnic college that too offers great education platform to the students.
